How to use WINPWN in WINDOWS VISTA by LIBUSB-Filter.
I found very little information on using libusb-win32 on Vista, so I thought I'd report my success. All I really found was suggestions to run the installer as administrator and in XP SP2 compatibility mode. Even run that way,the latest 0.1.12.1 version failed to work. It appeared to install correctly and libusb0.sys did show up in the list of USB controller drivers, but the test program never detected the driver. However, libusb-win32-filter-bin-0.1.10.1.exe does work. In order to install it, I first had to delete \WINDOWS\system32\libusb0.dll and \WINDOWS\system32\drivers\libusb0.sys . (It seems the 0.1.12.1 uninstaller leaves those behind and the 0.1.10.1 installer silently fails to overwrite.) With this version, I'm not sure if XP SP2 compatibility mode was necessary but I used it and it worked.
